What is the library doing to keep you safe during COVID19?

Answer

The library is committed to keeping faculty, students, and staff as safe as possible during the pandemic. To ensure the safety of everyone, facemasks are mandatory while in the library. The library has taken the following steps to ensure safe social distancing in the building:

  • For the rest of the Fall 2020 semester, the Henry Whittemore Library is only open to current Framingham State students, faculty, and staff. Students, faculty and staff can access by following the signage at the library door. If there the ID scanner at the door does not let you in, contact the ID office at 508-626-4015. More information about the ID office can be found at this link.Minuteman Library Network cardholders may still request books from the Henry Whittemore Library and can pick them up from the Henry Whittemore Library. See the guide here for more details.
  • We have removed seating and chairs in order to better socially distance while in the building.
  • There will be stickers placed on chairs and tables to better guide our patrons on socially distanced seating.
  • We have Plexiglas on the circulation desk to minimize any face to face interactions while checking out materials.
  • We have stickers placed around the building to keep waiting lines for circulation and reference spaced out, as well as directional arrows to help control the flow of people, so that patrons crossing paths is kept to a minimum.
  • There are hand sanitation stations and cleaning wipe dispensers around the library to keep your hands and your environment as clean as possible.
  • All books and other materials being returned to us will be quarantined for 24 hours
